Unique Trade announces the introduction of universal repair kits of anthers GKN

To make repair procedures as straightforward as possible, GKN offers complete repair kits which have been used by workshops to great effect over many years. Vehicle manufacturers are increasingly using the same platforms across a number of different brands and variants. Model updates carried out by the OEM over the vehicle lifespan are resulting in an ever-greater number of possible combinations of repair kits, fixings and fasteners. This inevitably leads to an increase in the range of different repair kits available.

One particular feature of the Spidan/Lebro repair kits is that some of them contain considerably more parts than the comparable OE kit, which makes for a simpler repair. This can also mean that several Spidan/Lebro part numbers may be suitable for any one vehicle.

To ensure selection of the right repair kit is unambiguous and to simplify the search, the classification of Spidan/Lebro repair kits is based on the part number of the OE boot kit. Often, the use of just one different fastener necessitates a new part number. Because of this, the new repair kits, like the OE replacement part kits, no longer contain fasteners. To ensure everything remains as straightforward as before for workshops, and that all the parts needed for a repair are to hand, GKN is now offering standard parts and fasteners in its small-parts range. The assortment encompasses the usual fastener sizes and can be combined with all repair kits.

The following example illustrates the simplicity gained by the new repair-kit structure. Part numbers for the VW AG axle-boot repair kits for different Group models: VAG 3B0 498 203 D, VAG 3B0 498 203 B, VAG 441 498 203 A, VAG 3B0 498 203 C. Matches VW AG’s axle-boot repair kit part number: VAG 3B0 498 203 F.
