The new Driver Distraction Assist from ZF reduces the number of accidents on the roads

Driver Distraction Assist keeps track of how careful the driver is, warns the driver about inattention, assumes control in the event that the driver does not react until attention recovers.

This is realized by a special laser camera of internal observation, which effectively works in conditions of low illumination of the car. The camera tracks the position of the driver's head in three dimensions.

When the driver is distracted from the road, the system warns him through the optical signal on the central display, the sound signal and the belt tension.

Simultaneously, the system takes control: follows the course or continues to turn. When the driver is distracted for a long time, the system begins to slow down and gradually stops in a safe place.
