The efficiency of operation of Bosch multilayered filter media is 99%, the contamination capacity, which can be accumulated by the filtering media until the maximum operating pressure difference is reached, is 15.34 g (test based upon SAE J905 at 0.7 bar on part number 77041WS). For comparison – maximum capacity of contamination of the low-quality cheap filter can be about 1.46 g – the working life span is approximately 10 times lower compared to Bosch fuel filter.

A key problem of fuel system is the different and not always permanent quality of fuel in various regions. Generally, first indication of problems with the fuel filter is bad starting behavior, some jerking while riding and loss of dynamic control during the overtaking maneuvers.

For comparison – maximum capacity of contamination of the low-quality cheap filter can be about 1.46 g – the working life span is approximately 10 times lower compared to Bosch fuel filter.According to Bosch research, the efficiency of the low-quality filters is on 70% level compared to 95% of Bosch fuel filters (ISO TR 13353, particle size 3-5 µm). It means, that these filters pass 6 times more contamination to the fuel system compared to Bosch fuel filters.
Bosch fuel filters allow to protect the most expensive engine parts. The up-to-date diesel and petrol injection systems operate in micron range, therefore smallest foreign particles can lead to early wear. Bosch fuel filters retain even the microscopic particles of several thousandth of mm in size, providing optimal operation and long-term performance of fuel system and engine parts.
The contamination protection is achieved by the multilayered filtering material, consisting of the layer of cellulose, special resin coating and polyester fiber.
